Tippy Reserve - Best Black Tea of 2019? June 21, 2019 11:13

This is Tippy Reserve

It really is a lovely black tea from Assam.  We have been drinking it all day today and with the grey day that we have it is a very heartening treat.   The head of the Danish tea association  Alexis Kaae suggested that it is the best black tea of 2019.  We reckon Alexis might be right.
Grown and produced on the Aideobari estates in the Brahmaputra Valley of Assam, India, it is an organic Artisan tea four generations in the making.  We have been assessing this tea for two years and made the decision to bring it to NZ from the very first moment.  However because it is crafted in small batches it is a very popular and in demand.  We are very pleased to finally have the chance to put it on our top shelf.  We encourage you to enjoy some yourself and decide if this is the best tea of the year.
We have managed to keep it very reasonably priced

Tasting  and Brewing Notes

It presents with a bright amber colour followed by notes of caramel, fruit and a malt. finishing with a hint of bergamot.

Brewing times and temp:    Absolutely no milk.  Infuse for 1.5 - 2.5 mins at 95°
We have tried it at up to 3 mins but the sweet spot seems to be 1.45 mins.  It will stand multiple infusions so there is room to experiment  to discover your own style.
