Golden Monkey


A legendary Chinese tea that is one of the finest teas of Fujian Province. The one leaf and one bud are hand processed.  This  tea starts out as tightly rolled leaves which unfold before your eyes to produce a light tea which has a bright red and clean liquor. It is a smooth tippy tea, low in tannin but rich in flavour. Highly sought after by the English and Dutch during the late Qing Dynasty. It features golden tipped black leaves with a bud.

Brew Time and Temp:  Infuse 6 grams to a 2 cup pot at 90 degrees for 1.10 mins without milk. Good for 3-4 infusions

Alternatively use a Gaiwan half filled with leaf but make the infusion time much shorter.  Good for many infusions.

50 grams will make approx. 25 - 30 cups

100 grams will make approx. 50 - 60 Cups
